Goals of my life -- present and future

Had an in-depth conversation last night with my roommates about the future.

Anyways, the gist of it is that I need to have goals and plans.

Start small, dream big. My end goal in life is to be happy, so clearly there is a lot of flexibility in that. But yes, I'll broadcast some of my little and large goals in life, so that both myself and others can keep me accountable and so I will remember and not lose sight of what I want.

This weekend's goals
*Have read and be ready for discussions this upcoming week -- hopefully I can catch up fully, but that would take a little more time
*Apply for at least 3 jobs

Small, achievable, short-term goals to be achieved by the time this semester ends in May:
*130 is the ideal goal but not entirely realistically achievable, so losing 5 pounds per month
EDIT (2.3.12) When (not if) I reach this goal, Janice has promised that she will purchase me a whole meal from WINGSTOP! YEEE! And I have promised that I will purchase a (as in a single whole 1 lol) tiramisu torte from Trader Joe's and share it with everybody! YEEE!
*Complete at least volume 1 of the Korean book that I purchased

Long-term dreams and future goals
*Study for the LSATS and apply by 2015 (why then? because I'm giving myself some time) -- or conversely for me to study and apply for grad school but law school to never be too far off
*Intern at the Hague
*Buy my mom a car
EDIT (2.2.2012) *Stop thinking about the past and all the mistakes I made, and continually look towards tomorrow.

Every day is a new day. It's never too late for me to change into a better person and for me to make better, more informed decisions.

My Thoughts Upon Extending.

Extending from a semester to a year long program isn't some random thought that just recently occurred to me one day. This was a thought I had started contemplating a while ago, albeit too late in the semester for me to actually have prepared beforehand... but the past is a moot point. There's a lot of wouldas, couldas, and shouldas... but ultimately this is a question of what I CAN do NOW at this very moment. I've discussed this with my mom and at the very core of the argument, it really goes down to 2 things. 1) Money. But of course, it always comes down to money. 2) Graduating on time/ the commencement ceremony. If I extend into the year... I will have to stay an additional semester at UC Berkeley. An additional semester means no Cal Grants... which means approximately $5000-$6000 out of pocket/ loans that I will have to take out... given that the tuition doesn't skyrocket and given that Pell Grants don't disappear. Furthermore, there is the cost of my be...

Korean Beauty Products

I could go on a tangent about beauty standards in Korea... but I won't. My goal is to review the beauty products that I have bought and tried here in Korea. In case you've ever visited Korea or ever plan to visit Korea, one of the first things you will notice is the overabundance of makeup stores -- Etude House, Nature Republic, TheFaceShop, Innisfree, Missha, Saem, It's Skin, Hanskin, Aritaum... the list goes on. Most of these stores are easily seen in shopping areas, university areas, and subway stations. In many locations, 2 or more of the same branches can be found within a 1/2 radius... I kid you not. Anyways, my point is that with such an abundance of stores and beauty products, it can be difficult to decide what products are worth it... and which aren't. The below reviews are solely my own opinion and derive from my personal experience with said products, so take from it what you will. *** First off, I'm actually going to review a U.S. product I purc...

Updates and Such

Currently working on the construction of a second blog -- this second one will be more of a collection of my ramblings... of course, when it is completed, I will post a link here. The latest song on repeat: My past week: -Had an alright week, did okay on a midterm -Decided to drop my International Rural Development class in lieu of Global Change Biology -Tried Phil's coffee and Phil's Sliders -- both were delish -Assisted in a high school tour -- I had forgotten how young and eager you are when you are still in high school and it was interesting to see my younger self in these high school students -Celebrated Laura's birthday :) My ramblings (philosophical and whatnot): *I never want to be apathetic to the world or to the struggles and plights of the people around me, be they loved ones or strangers. *It's not about the appearance of being "nice" or about being "good" -- although giving is not an obligation, to care for fellow human bei...
